📍 Bok Kai Temple

Originally built in the 1850s and reconstructed in 1880, the Bok Kai Temple is dedicated to the Chinese water god Bok Eye. It is one of the only surviving Gold Rush-era Chinese temples in California and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The temple remains an active place of worship and the centerpiece of the annual Bok Kai Festival.
